Willkommen am Lehrstuhl für Ökonomik des Gartenbaus und Landschaftsbaus

Ökonomik und Management betrachten menschliche Wahlhandlungen im Angesicht einer Vielzahl von alternativen Verwendungen knapper Ressourcen. Dazu gehört das Schaffen neuer Ressourcen und Handlungsmöglichkeiten durch Kreativität, Forschung und Entwicklung sowie Innovations- und Adaptionsprozesse. Unser Feld ist die Erforschung von Managementaufgaben und ökonomischen Fragen in Gartenbau und Landschaftsbau sowie im breiteren Umfeld von Landwirtschaft und gesellschaftlichen Institutionen.

Wir legen Wert darauf, Handlungswissen zu entwickeln, das in wissenschaftlicher und ethischer Forschung begründet ist, und über Disziplingrenzen hinweg zusammenzuarbeiten. Unser Methodenspektrum reicht von qualitativen bis hin zu quantitativen Ansätzen.

Uns ist jeder Aspekt des Lernens ein Anliegen:

  • Forschungsergebnisse entwickeln, die Entscheidungsträgern und engagierten Interessengruppen von Nutzen sind

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Vera Bitsch has been honoured with the Fellow Award by the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA; ifama.org). The Fellow Award is an important international honor and is the highest award given by IFAMA. It is awarded to members who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to the success of the organization.

The award is given to individuals who have distinguished themselves as a leader in the food and agribusiness industry as well as in service to IFAMA. The designation of Fellow is awarded to active supporters of the Association for outstanding contributions to food and agribusiness management in at least two of the following four categories:

  1. Practice of management in food and/or agribusiness
  2. Research and scholarship
  3. Teaching and/or academic administration
  4. Service to IFAMA
